WOODEN SUNGLASSES Hot Pink
These custom sunglasses are a colab between NZ designers Moana Road and Tikidub.
They feature our exclusive WHITIAPU artwork on the wooden arms, and come in a white microfibre soft bag with our Tiki Taane Reitiki artwork logo, designed by renowned NZ artist Otis Frizzell.
Whitiapu is one of the movements belonging to the traditional mau rakau artform of the warrior. In this ahei or position, the rakau shifts from being held horizontal in front of the body (right palm up left palm down)and it crosses over to become horizontal again with the wrists crossed so that the left palm is up and the right palm down.
From the position of balance, the rakau makes a circular motion in the crossover and the 2 opposite sides create a full circle in the process. In doing so, it represents the science, polar opposites, polarities and all the space in between of Rangi and Papa (deities of the sky and earth), Wahine and Taane (male and female), Te Ao me Te Po (day and night, dark and light) and all things of nature..balance!
These sunglasses feature UV protection and are polarised. Lightweight and sturdy they are a unisex style, and as they are made with reclaimed wood, the colour may vary very slightly from those in the pictures.
